Regulations for Climbing Wall

Introductory provisions

These operating rules apply to all individuals participating in sport climbing activities as outlined in Article 2. They are prominently displayed at the reception, and every visitor is required to read them carefully upon their first visit. By entering the climbing wall, visitors acknowledge the rules and agree to comply with them.

Violation of these rules may result in expulsion by the climbing wall staff without any right to a refund of the entrance fee. Repeated or serious violations may lead to a permanent ban. In such cases, holders of season tickets or passes will have them revoked without compensation.

2. Who May Participate in Climbing Activities

Individuals must be medically fit, competent in climbing techniques, and familiar with the use of safety equipment. Participants must be at least 15 years old.

Individuals under the age of 15 may climb only under the supervision of a responsible person aged 18 or older, who is skilled in climbing techniques and safety procedures.

Persons aged 15 to 18 are required to provide proof of their ability to independently perform sports activities upon first entry with a signed declaration from their legal guardian.

3. Safety

Most injuries on artificial climbing walls result from inattention, poor technique, or inappropriate equipment. These rules do not replace formal training. It is your responsibility to receive proper instruction in climbing safety.

Use the climbing wall at your own risk. Climbing involves inherent dangers that cannot be entirely eliminated, even by the operator.

Modifying the climbing wall (e.g., moving holds) is strictly prohibited.

Use only climbing equipment that meets current safety standards.

It is forbidden to climb while using mobile phones, wearing headphones, or engaging in distracting conversations.

Remove any sharp or loose items (e.g., watches, rings, jewelry) before climbing, as these can cause injury.

Children under 15 must be supervised at all times. They may only be near the climbing area under adult supervision or as part of organized group training. Unsupervised play or movement in the climbing area is prohibited.

4. Climbing Rules

If someone is climbing on a route or bouldering problem, no other climbers may enter that route. Violating this rule poses a serious risk of injury.

Holds and footholds may spin or break unexpectedly. Climbers accept this risk as part of using the facility.

Do not jump from the top of the wall. Use the designated descent holds.

Stay out of fall zones beneath other climbers.

Do not leave objects (e.g., bottles, phones, glasses) in the landing area. These can cause injury if landed on.

Review the posted bouldering safety diagram before climbing.

Consider your physical condition before climbing. Illness increases the risk of injury.

5. Visitors

Upon your first visit, registration is mandatory. If a visitor refuses to register, they must complete and sign a declaration form on each subsequent visit.

Visitors aged 15–18 must provide a declaration signed by a legal guardian during registration.

All visitors must check in at the reception upon entry and check out when leaving, settling any outstanding payments.

Once a visitor leaves the climbing wall premises, their entry fee expires. Re-entry requires payment of a new fee.

Conducting individual or group training sessions by third parties (external trainers) without prior consultation and consent of the operator is not permitted. Any such training must be approved in advance by the operator and may only be carried out after mutual agreement on the conditions.

6. Employees

Visitors must follow all instructions given by staff without exception.

Employees are not obligated, nor able, to continuously monitor users for compliance with all aspects of the operating rules.

In cases of theft, vandalism (e.g., damage or theft of holds, climbing gear, or personal belongings), or other criminal activity, staff are required to report the individuals involved to the police.

7. Photos and videos

– By purchasing an entrance ticket to the SPOT climbing wall, visitors agree that photographs and/or video recordings may be taken during their stay and subsequently used by the operator for marketing purposes (website, social media, promotional materials).

– In case of disagreement, a written request must be sent to the e-mail address info@boulderspot.sk before the start of using the services.

8. Opening hours of the center

The climbing wall is available during posted operating hours. However, sections or the entire facility may occasionally be closed for route setting, maintenance, inspections, competitions, or events. Such closures will be announced in advance whenever possible.

9. Self-Service Entry (Unstaffed Access)

The operator permits access to the bouldering wall during designated self-service hours, when staff are not present.

By entering during self-service mode, visitors explicitly confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the operating rules and general terms of use.

Use of the wall during self-service mode is entirely at the visitor’s own risk. The operator is not responsible for any injury or property damage incurred during these hours, unless caused by proven negligence on the part of the operator.

For safety reasons, it is strongly recommended that at least two people be present during self-service access. Visitors are encouraged to arrange joint visits to ensure assistance is available in the event of an emergency.

In case of an accident or emergency, the visitor must:

  • Immediately call emergency services at 112.
  • Ensure that access is available for rescue personnel, if needed.
  • Notify the climbing wall operator about the incident as soon as possible.

For security purposes, the facility is monitored by a CCTV system, and all entries during self-service hours are electronically logged. Violations of the operating rules may result in restriction or revocation of access to self-service mode.

10. Order and cleanliness

Visitors are expected to maintain order and cleanliness throughout the facility.

Climbing barefoot is strictly prohibited.

To protect the wall surface, climbing in Vibram shoes, slippers, or socks is not allowed. Only proper climbing shoes are permitted. Clean sneakers may be allowed only for large, organized groups with prior approval from the operator.

Upon arrival, visitors must change into appropriate clothing and footwear in the designated changing rooms before entering the bouldering area.

11. Release from Liability for Damage Due to Rule Violations

The operator bears no responsibility for damage to personal property or injuries sustained by individuals if it is proven that such damage or injury resulted from violations of the operating rules.

The operator is not liable for any items stored outside of designated storage areas. Visitors are advised to store valuables with the facility staff.

12. First aid area

A first aid kit, a list of emergency phone numbers, and a telephone are available at the climbing wall service desk.
